Director Jenn Wexler, known for her work on “The Ranger,” is set to premiere her latest horror film, “The Sacrifice Game,” at the Fantasia International Film Festival. The movie is scheduled to launch on Shudder later this year.
Sneak peeks offer a glimpse into the gripping and stylish ’70s-set chiller, which combines elements of school girls, power-mad killers, and occult prophecy, promising a thrilling blend of gore and lore.
The plot of the upcoming horror movie revolves around Samantha and Clara, two boarding school students who find themselves trapped on campus during the holidays. Their already unfortunate situation takes a deadly turn when a gang of cult killers arrives unexpectedly, just in time for Christmas.
The film features a talented cast including Mena Massoud, Olivia Scott Welch, Olympian Gus Kenworthy, Chloë Levine, Madison Baines, Derek Johns, Laurent Pitre, and Georgia Acken.
Shot in Oka, Quebec, “The Sacrifice Game” is co-written by Jenn Wexler and Sean Redlitz. The production is helmed by producers Philip Kalin-Hajdu, Albert I. Melamed, Heather Buckley, and Todd Slater.
