Ewan McGregor Teams Up with Anne Hathaway in Enigmatic IMAX “Thrill Ride” from ‘It Follows’ Director
Reported first by Jeff Sneider and John Rocha on their show “The Hot Mic” last year, acclaimed director David Robert Mitchell, known for his work on “It Follows,” is steering a mysterious new genre project for Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Rumored to be set in the 1980s and possibly involving dinosaurs, the specifics of this film remain shrouded in secrecy.
While subsequent news reports haven’t officially confirmed these intriguing details, Deadline provides an update on the enigmatic project today: Ewan McGregor is set to star alongside the previously announced Anne Hathaway!
The untitled film is slated to be shot in IMAX format and is expected to kick off production later this year. Hathaway, having previously tangled with colossal creatures in Nacho Vigalondo’s Kaiju flick “Colossal,” may find herself facing off against dinosaurs this time around.
As the story continues to unfold, stay tuned for further developments.
According to Deadline, Mitchell will not only direct from his own original script but also produce alongside J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella for Bad Robot, and Matt Jackson for Jackson Pictures. Additionally, Jake Weiner and Chris Bender of Good Fear Content will serve as executive producers.
In related news, Mitchell is revisiting the world of “It Follows” with the upcoming film “They Follow,” featuring Maika Monroe reprising her role as Jay Height.
