Doug Jones Faces the Unknown in the Shadowy Woods of ‘The Weeping’

Genre icon and longtime Guillermo del Toro collaborator Doug Jones (Hellboy, The Shape of Water) is heading into eerie new territory with The Weeping, an upcoming indie horror film, as first reported by Deadline.
Set deep within a protected Native American forest, the story follows a group of friends whose camping trip takes a terrifying turn when they unknowingly awaken an ancient witch that curses anyone who trespasses on sacred ground.
Joining Jones in the cast are Reggie Lee (Grimm) — featured in the first official image from the production — as well as Chase DeMoor, Isabelle Hahn (V/H/S/99), Jordan Kennedy, and Craig Ng (Big Trouble in Little China).
The film is written and directed by Spyder Dobrofsky, who previously worked with Jones on Down Below, and is produced by Worlds Apart.
The Weeping adds to a busy horror slate for Jones, who is also set to appear in Alex Kahuam’s The Remedy and Matthew Hersh’s If It Bleeds.
