Warner Bros. has just announced the theatrical release date for the highly anticipated horror film “Weapons,” directed by Zach Cregger of “Barbarian” fame.

Mark your calendars, as New Line Cinema is set to unleash “Weapons” into theaters on January 16, 2026.

The star-studded ensemble includes Benedict Wong (“3 Body Problem”), Amy Madigan (“Antlers”), Austin Abrams (“Euphoria”), and Cary Christopher (“Days of Our Lives”), all of whom have recently joined the cast.

They join previously announced luminaries such as Josh Brolin (“Dune 2”), Julia Garner (“The Royal Hotel”), and Alden Ehrenreich (“Cocaine Bear”) in this enigmatic horror venture.

Penned and helmed by Zach Cregger himself, “Weapons” promises to deliver a chilling and multi-faceted narrative experience. Cregger also serves as a producer, alongside his producing cohorts from “Barbarian”: Roy Lee of Vertigo and J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules of BoulderLight Pictures. Miri Yoon from Vertigo is also on board as a producer.

Teased by The Hollywood Reporter, “Weapons” remains shrouded in mystery, with plot details tightly under wraps. However, it’s described as a sprawling horror saga, interweaving multiple narratives in a tonal vein akin to Paul Thomas Anderson’s ensemble masterpiece, “Magnolia” (1999).

Prior to his directorial venture, Cregger was renowned as a founding member and writer for the New York-based comedy troupe “The Whitest Kids U’Know,” which gained acclaim for their eponymous sketch comedy show airing on IFC-TV and Fuse. Cregger’s acting credits include roles in Jimmy Fallon’s NBC series “Guys with Kids,” the TBS hit “Wrecked,” and a recurring stint on NBC’s “About a Boy.”
