Director Michael Chaves to Helm Final Chapter of Main Series: ‘The Conjuring 4’
The Conjuring Universe, known for its spine-chilling tales, is gearing up for another thrilling addition with “The Conjuring 4,” as reported by THR tonight. Michael Chaves, who recently helmed “The Nun II” within the Conjuring Universe, is set to direct this latest installment. Chaves also previously directed “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” the third movie in the main series.
According to THR, “The Conjuring 4” is slated to be the concluding chapter in the main series. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who contributed to the screenplay of “The Conjuring 2,” has penned the script for this fourth installment.
While plot details remain shrouded in mystery, THR teases that audiences can anticipate supernatural investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga respectively, facing eerie phenomena such as creaky doors, haunting shadows, inverted crosses, and encounters with demonic possession. Wilson and Farmiga are expected to reprise their roles, with filming set to commence in Atlanta this summer.
The franchise’s stalwarts James Wan and Peter Safran are returning as producers for “The Conjuring 4.”
Based on the real-life case files of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, portrayed by Wilson and Farmiga, respectively, “The Conjuring” films have captivated audiences with their chilling narratives. The franchise boasts eight films to date, including “The Conjuring,” “Annabelle,” “The Conjuring 2,” “Annabelle: Creation,” “The Nun,” “Annabelle Comes Home,” and “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.” The most recent addition, “The Nun 2,” hit screens just last year.
