Lynne Ramsay, the director behind We Need to Talk About Kevin and You Were Never Really Here, is back with a gripping new psychological thriller, Die, My LoveDeadline has released the first look at Jennifer Lawrence in the film, which is based on the 2017 novel by Ariana Harwicz.

Die, My Love follows the story of a mother struggling with her mental health in a remote, isolated rural setting. As she battles with psychosis, the film explores her descent into madness and the overwhelming power of love. Ramsay co-wrote the script with Enda Walsh, adapting Harwicz’s emotionally intense novel into a raw portrait of a woman on the edge.

Lawrence stars as the protagonist, with Robert Pattinson (Mickey 17The Batman) playing her husband and LaKeith Stanfield (Get OutHaunted Mansion) portraying her lover. The film also features performances from Sissy Spacek and Nick Nolte.

The novel’s synopsis offers a deeper sense of the emotional turmoil at the story’s core: Die, My Love is set in a forgotten corner of the French countryside, where a woman grapples with intense inner conflict—desiring both freedom and connection, while feeling suffocated by the very life she craves. It’s a story of motherhood, love, and the terrifying complexity of human desire. The narrative examines a woman’s unraveling psyche, pushing toward an inevitable breaking point with violent consequences.

Given Ramsay’s track record for delivering intense, unsettling portraits of human emotion, audiences can expect a harrowing look at mental instability and emotional collapse.

Producers include Justine Ciarrocchi and Lawrence for Excellent Cadaver, as well as Martin Scorsese, Andrea Calderwood, and Black Label Media, which also served as the project’s financier.
