Director Matthew Hersh, known for his work on the SCREAMBOX horror film “Night of the Missing,” is stepping into the spotlight with his feature directorial debut, a horror movie titled “If It Bleeds.”

According to Deadline, horror icons Doug Jones (“Hellboy”) and Dee Wallace (“Cujo”) have joined the cast, along with Catherine Corcoran (“Terrifier”), Justin Miles, and Krsy Fox.

“If It Bleeds” is described as an anthology-style crime thriller, with the story revolving around Catherine Corcoran’s character, Diane Winters, and her cameraman Simon, played by Justin Miles. Together, they uncover a series of gruesome murders unfolding throughout a chaotic and violent day. As the events unfold, they find themselves entangled in a sinister situation more menacing than they could have imagined.

Samuel Gonzalez Jr., director of “Night of the Missing,” will also helm a segment of the film.

Matthew Hersh expressed his gratitude for the support of the genre legends, stating, “To have so many genre greats believe in me and trust me with the story I wanted to tell with this film at such an early stage of my career was truly surreal.”

Catherine Corcoran shared her excitement for the project, highlighting the universal theme of the need to be seen and valued, which resonates with her character. She expressed her anticipation for audiences to witness the cast and crew bring this theme to life.

Doug Jones, portraying a quirky cosmetic surgeon in the film, praised Hersh’s direction and writing, adding that the experience was enriched by the talented cast and crew, particularly his scenes opposite Krsy Fox.

With promising talent both in front of and behind the camera, “If It Bleeds” is poised to captivate horror enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
