Bryan Fuller, the mastermind behind “Hannibal,” teams up once again with star Mads Mikkelsen for Entertainment One and Thunder Road’s chilling horror flick, “Dust Bunny.” Collider reveals that actor David Dastmalchian has officially joined the cast.

The film follows the tale of an eight-year-old girl seeking aid from her enigmatic neighbor to vanquish the monster she believes devoured her family, lurking under her bed.

Fresh from his roles in the 2023 horror hits “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” and “The Boogeyman,” Dastmalchian joins forces with Mikkelsen and Sigourney Weaver in “Dust Bunny.” Additionally, he stars in the upcoming supernatural horror feature, “Late Night with the Devil.”

Details regarding the roles of Mikkelsen, Weaver, and Dastmalchian in “Dust Bunny” remain under wraps for now.

Described as a homage to the 80s’ family horror genre, the film marks Fuller’s debut as a feature director. Fuller leads the writing, directing, and producing efforts, partnering with Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee for co-production.

Thunder Road’s Lee expressed admiration for Fuller’s work, citing “Dust Bunny” as incredibly inventive and groundbreaking in the current film landscape.

Production commenced in July, as Fuller shared a glimpse from the set on Twitter, hinting at his reunion with “Hannibal” star Mads Mikkelsen.

Beyond his success with “Hannibal,” Fuller is known for creating shows like “Dead Like Me” and “Pushing Daisies,” and he’s currently engaged in developing A24’s “Crystal Lake” TV series.

Keep an eye out for more updates on “Dust Bunny” as they emerge.
