‘Dark Harvest’ Earns “R” Rating for “Intense Horror Violence and Graphic Gore”; Arriving This Friday

The movie’s plot unfolds in a cursed town, where the annual harvest transforms into a brutal battle for survival. On Halloween night in 1963, a horrifying legend named Sawtooth Jack rises from the cornfields, posing a grave threat to the town’s children. In response, groups of boys band together to confront the murderous scarecrow before the stroke of midnight. Richie, a rebellious outcast, embarks on this quest, driven by his brother’s previous victory. As the pursuit unfolds, Richie stumbles upon a shocking revelation, forcing him to confront a pivotal choice that could break the relentless cycle.
The film stars Elizabeth Reaser, known for her role in “The Haunting of Hill House,” alongside Jeremy Davies from “Hannibal,” Luke Kirby, Casey Likes of “The Birch” fame, and Emyri Crutchfield, recognized for her role in “Tell Me Your Secrets.” Michael Gilio penned the adaptation of Norman Partridge’s Halloween-themed novel.
