Dan Stevens continues his streak of diverse roles, from his appearance in “Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire” to his recent work in “Abigail” and the upcoming “Cuckoo.” Now, he’s set to star in the horror film “The Ritual.”

Joining Stevens is veteran actor Al Pacino, as reported by Variety. Directed by David Midell and produced by XYZ Films, the movie is based on a true story and centers on two priests confronting their own demons to save a possessed young woman through a series of intense exorcisms.

Stevens portrays a priest questioning his faith, while Pacino takes on the role of a clergyman grappling with his troubled past. The narrative is inspired by the documented case of Emma Schmidt, an American woman whose exorcism remains one of the most extensively documented in American history.

Penned by David Midell and Enrico Natale, “The Ritual” promises an authentic portrayal of the chilling events surrounding Schmidt’s possession.

XYZ Films is gearing up for a theatrical release of “The Ritual” in 2025, offering audiences a gripping exploration of faith, redemption, and the supernatural.
