Christopher Landon Takes the Helm in Directing Werewolf Film ‘Big Bad’ for Lionsgate
Following his departure from Scream 7, currently lacking a director, Christopher Landon, known for “Happy Death Day” and “Freaky,” has swiftly moved on to his next horror venture.
As reported by Deadline, Landon is set to direct “Big Bad” for Lionsgate, adapted from a short story penned by Chandler Baker, the author of “Whisper Network.” Baker is also taking on the task of writing the screenplay.
In “Big Bad,” the Strauss family finds themselves on a precarious edge. Sam, a resentful stay-at-home dad, and Rachel, feeling the restlessness in her blood, grapple with unruly children. A recent mudslide forces wolves out of the woods in search of food. As dusk descends and tensions escalate, the family must unite to survive the night, facing threats both external and from within.
The original short story was part of the anthology novel “Creature Feature,” boasting a collection of devilishly creepy tales that send shivers down the spine and twist the mind.
Producing alongside Christopher Landon are Todd Lieberman and Hidden Pictures. The anticipation is high for this upcoming horror project, which promises a gripping narrative filled with suspense and familial tensions.
