In exciting news for horror fans, Christopher Landon has officially been announced as the director for the highly anticipated ‘Scream 7.’ Following initial reports that Radio Silence would not be returning due to scheduling conflicts, it has now been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that Landon will take the helm of the seventh installment in the long-running franchise.

Landon, known for his work on ‘Happy Death Day’ and ‘Freaky,’ is no stranger to the horror genre, making him a fitting choice for the project. He has been praised as a “scary movie stalwart” with a remarkable horror pedigree, having written and directed various films from the ‘Paranormal Activity’ franchise, including ‘Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.’

The Hollywood Reporter also states that Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directors of ‘Scream’ and ‘Scream VI,’ who are part of Radio Silence, will remain involved in the project as executive producers, along with Chad Villella.

While the writing team for ‘Scream 7’ has yet to be revealed, Melissa Barrera and Mason Gooding are expected to return to the franchise. As for Jenna Ortega, who joined the series before gaining popularity through Netflix’s ‘Wednesday,’ her involvement remains uncertain.

It’s worth noting that production for ‘Scream VII’ may face delays due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strikes, impacting various Hollywood productions.

Fans of the ‘Scream’ saga can look forward to Landon’s unique vision and impressive horror expertise as he ventures into Woodsboro. Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses.
