Welcome back! Are you ready for round two? Fresh from Universal’s CinemaCon showcase, Blumhouse has unleashed the first teaser trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, promising even more animatronic nightmares.

The highly anticipated sequel is set to hit theaters exclusively on December 5, 2025—meaning fans will have to wait until 2026 for a potential Peacock streaming release.

“Anyone can survive five nights. This time, there will be no second chances…”

Following the massive success of Five Nights at Freddy’s—the highest-grossing horror film of 2023—Blumhouse is diving back into the chilling world of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. Based on Scott Cawthon’s beloved horror game series, the sequel is once again helmed by director Emma Tammi (The Wind, Blood Moon), ensuring a return to the eerie atmosphere that captivated audiences.

The first film introduced us to Mike, a troubled young man who takes a job as a night security guard at the long-abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria in a desperate attempt to keep custody of his younger sister. Instead, he finds himself trapped in a supernatural nightmare. The sequel will continue Mike’s terrifying journey—though details remain under wraps.

One thing we do know? Matthew Lillard is back! Speaking to Forbes last Halloween season, he teased, “I think the filmmakers have done a great job learning from the first movie about what fans want, and they’re delivering even more of that. It’s going to be more exciting and packed with action.”

Also returning to bring Freddy and friends to life? Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, once again handling the film’s spine-chilling animatronics.

Stay tuned for more updates as we count down to Five Nights at Freddy’s 2!
