Deadline reports that Bleecker Street has secured the U.S. rights for “Sasquatch Sunset,” the enigmatic new project from acclaimed filmmakers David and Nathan Zellner, known for “Kumiko, The Treasure Hunter.”

Starring in the film are Riley Keough (“The Lodge”), Jesse Eisenberg (“Zombieland: Double Tap,” “Vivarium”), Nathan Zellner (“Kumiko, The Treasure Hunter”), and Christophe Zajac-Denek (“Twin Peaks: The Return”).

While specifics about the plot are scarce, the film is described as chronicling “a year in the life of a singular family.” However, what stands out is Eisenberg’s roleā€”he portrays a Sasquatch, fully adorned in hairy cryptid attire from head to toe.

In a recent interview with Variety, Eisenberg hinted at his transformation into a full-fledged cryptid in “Sasquatch Sunset.” “I play a Sasquatch: full makeup, full body hair, no lines. I grunt, but no lines,” he revealed. The actor expressed anticipation for this unique role.

The film’s first released image suggests a potential narrative centering around a Sasquatch family. This raises curiosity about whether Riley Keough might also embody a Sasquatch character, stirring anticipation for further revelations.

The Zellner Brothers have a longstanding fascination with Bigfoot, previously directing the Sundance award-winning short film “Sasquatch Birth Journal 2” in 2010. More recently, they directed episodes for the genre-blending Showtime series “The Curse,” currently in its debut season.

Adding to the intrigue, “Sasquatch Sunset” boasts executive production by Ari Aster, known for directing “Beau is Afraid.”

Riley Keough and Gina Gammell serve as executive producers under their Felix Culpa Banner. Produced by Lars Knudsen, Tyler Campellone, Nathan Zellner, David Zellner, George Rush, Jesse Eisenberg, and David Harari, the film is a Square Peg, ZBI, and The Space Program production.

Bleecker Street plans to theatrically release “Sasquatch Sunset” in 2024. Fans eagerly await further insights into this intriguing project.
