The latest installment in the Poohniverse series, “Bambi: The Reckoning,” takes a dark turn, as revealed in its newly released trailer. This time around, the story follows Xana (played by Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (played by Tom Mulheron), who find themselves in a car accident and become targets of a relentless and brutal predator – Bambi.

Unlike the beloved classic, this iteration of Bambi is far from innocent and gentle. The teaser trailer offers a glimpse into the terrifying ordeal that unfolds.

Production for “Bambi: The Reckoning” commenced on January 6, 2024, in England, with a scheduled release set for Fall 2024. Director Dan Allen (known for “Unhinged”) promises a truly chilling experience, suggesting that encountering a deer in the wild might never be the same again after watching this film.

The movie is a collaboration between ITN Studios and Jagged Edge Productions, with Rhys Warrington handling the screenplay, and Scott Jeffrey and Rhys Frake-Waterfield producing under Jagged Edge Productions. ITN Studios is responsible for distribution.

Part of the expanding “Twisted Childhood Universe,” dubbed the Poohniverse, “Bambi: The Reckoning” joins previously announced stand-alone films such as “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” and “Pinocchio Unstrung.” Additionally, new characters like Sleeping Beauty, The Mad Hatter, and Rabbit from “Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey” will be introduced. All these characters will converge in “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble” in 2025, where they unite to confront global threats.

The adaptation of Felix Salten’s original 1923 novel “Bambi, a Life in the Woods,” which has entered the public domain, serves as the basis for this horror reimagining.

As more details emerge about this twisted take on childhood favorites, stay tuned for updates on this unsettling journey.
