‘Apartment 7A’: Prequel to ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ Directed by ‘Relic’ Director Set to Premiere on Paramount+ This Halloween
Prepare to return to the eerie halls of the Bramford apartment building this autumn. Paramount+ has revealed that the brand-new original film set prior to the events of “Rosemary’s Baby,” titled “Apartment 7A,” will debut exclusively on the streaming platform this Halloween season.
Taking place in 1965 New York City, the film delves into the narrative preceding the horror classic “Rosemary’s Baby,” offering insight into the events that occurred within the apartment before Rosemary Woodhouse’s arrival.

Directed by Natalie Erika James, known for her work on “Relic,” the movie features a stellar cast including Julia Garner (“Ozark,” “Wolf Man”), Dianne Wiest (“Mayor of Kingstown”), Jim Sturgess (“Across the Universe”), and Kevin McNally (“Pirates of the Caribbean” film series). Supporting roles are filled by Marli Siu (“Anna and the Apocalypse”), Andrew Buchan (“All the Money in the World”), Rosy McEwen (“Blue Jean”), and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (“Wonka”).
In “Apartment 7A,” a struggling young dancer (Garner) faces a life-altering injury, leading her into the grasp of sinister forces when an enigmatic, influential older couple offers her a chance at fame.

This psychological thriller is a Paramount+ original production in collaboration with Paramount Pictures and draws inspiration from Ira Levin’s novel “Rosemary’s Baby.” Directed by James, with a screen story by Skylar James and a screenplay by Natalie Erika James & Christian White, and Skylar James, the film is executive produced by Vicki Dee Rock and Alexa Ginsburg, and produced by John Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller.
While an official release date for “Apartment 7A” has yet to be announced by Paramount+, viewers can anticipate its arrival just in time for Halloween as part of the streamer’s Peak Screaming collection, offering a diverse selection of new originals, beloved horror classics, and iconic Halloween-themed episodes from popular series.
