Amazon MGM Studios has ambitious plans for their upcoming sci-fi thriller “Mercy,” with a worldwide theatrical release in the works. According to Variety, Annabelle Wallis, known for her role in “Malignant,” is the latest addition to the cast.

Scheduled for a global theatrical debut on August 15, 2025, “Mercy” boasts a star-studded ensemble, including previously announced actors Rebecca Ferguson and Chris Pratt.

In this futuristic tale, crime rates have soared, leading to a gripping narrative where a detective, played by Chris Pratt, finds himself accused of a violent crime. Forced to clear his name, he embarks on a journey to prove his innocence in a world fraught with danger and deception.

Timur Bekmambetov, known for his work on “Night Watch” and “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” takes the helm as director, while Marco van Belle penned the screenplay.

Details regarding Annabelle Wallis’ character are being kept tightly under wraps, but her past performances in genre films like “Malignant,” “Silent Night,” “The Mummy,” and “Annabelle” have proven her ability to captivate audiences in thrilling roles.

Production is slated to commence this spring, under the production guidance of Charles Roven, in collaboration with Atlas Entertainment SVP Robert Amidon, Bekmambetov’s BEL banner, and Majd Nassif.
