Andrzej Bartkowiak Set to Direct Supernatural Horror Film ‘The Dire Wolf’
Andrzej Bartkowiak, known for directing films like Doom and Romeo Must Die, is set to helm an upcoming supernatural horror movie titled The Dire Wolf, according to a report by Deadline.
The film, scheduled for release next year and produced by Steelyard Pictures, follows the story of Hank Whitmore, a resolute and determined sheriff from New Mexico. When a series of supernatural occurrences threatens his family, town, and way of life, he teams up with the Navajo Nation to confront the looming menace.
The screenplay for The Dire Wolf was crafted by Ry Cook, and the movie will be produced by Leone Marucci, known for works such as The Inhabitant and The Power of Few. Marucci emphasized the film’s exploration of the spiritual connection between Native American culture and the natural world, with the extinct Dire Wolf once being native to North America. Today, the wolf spirit symbolizes qualities like trust in intuition, guardianship, and the courage to follow one’s unique path.
