A24 Unleashes the Chilling Trailer for Bring Her Back From the Directors of Talk to Me
A24 has dropped the official trailer for Bring Her Back, the highly anticipated new horror film from Danny and Michael Philippou, the minds behind the 2023 sensation Talk to Me.
Starring Sally Hawkins, Billy Barratt, Sora Wong, Jonah Wren Phillips, and Sally-Anne Upton, Bring Her Back is set to hit theaters on May 30, 2025. A24 describes the film as “a soul-shaking possession horror that cannot be unseen,” promising another spine-tingling experience from the Philippou brothers.
The story follows a brother and sister who stumble upon a chilling ritual within the isolated home of their new foster mother—setting the stage for a terrifying descent into the unknown.
At a recent preview event, Danny Philippou opened up about the deeply personal inspiration behind the film. “We were in the middle of writing Bring Her Back when my cousin lost her two-year-old,” he shared. “I was in the hospital watching her hold him, with family surrounding them, each holding onto him. One by one, they let go—until she was the last.”
Philippou explained how this moment of profound grief shaped the film’s themes. “Horror allows us to explore dark experiences,” he continued. “The idea of a never-ending grief cycle is terrifying. Seeing raw grief like that was terrifying.”
The Philippou brothers made waves with Talk to Me, which raked in $92 million globally and earned them widespread acclaim. They’re now set to return for Talk to Me 2, but first, horror fans can brace themselves for Bring Her Back—a film that promises to unsettle audiences long after the credits roll.
