First Look at ‘Diabolic’: Unleashing the Demonic Spirit of a Witch
Directed by Daniel J. Phillips (Awoken), the possession horror film Diabolic is set to make its debut at the American Film Market, and Deadline has just released a first look image.
According to Deadline, “The first footage of the film will be showcased to buyers by Film Bridge International’s After Dark label at the upcoming market in Las Vegas.”
The film’s storyline follows a woman who participates in a healing ceremony conducted by the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints (FLDS) to address her mysterious blackouts. However, the ceremony inadvertently releases the vengeful spirit of a witch, intent on exacting revenge on those who have wronged her.
Starring Elizabeth Cullen (Elvis), John Harlan Kim (The Little Things), and Mia Challis (Outer Banks), Diabolic was filmed on location in Australia.
The screenplay was co-written by Mike Harding and Daniel J. Phillips. Phillips expressed his vision for the film: “We aimed to fill every frame with dread, creating an experience that audiences can truly immerse themselves in. It’s relentless and unsettling—everything I’ve ever wanted to achieve in the horror genre. Prepare yourself for a kind of horror that lingers.”
Film Bridge International’s Jordan Dykstra added, “Diabolic represents the elevated, theatrical genre content our global customers are eager to find in the marketplace.”
