Interestingly, while the other “Hocus Pocus 2” POP figures will be available through various retailers, “The Witch Mother” figure will be exclusively offered on the Funko website. To secure this unique piece, enthusiasts are encouraged to visit Funko.com before the Witch Mother figures run out.
According to ThatHashtagShow, “The Witch Mother” plays a brief yet pivotal role in the Disney feature “Hocus Pocus 2.” Portrayed by Hannah Waddingham of “Ted Lasso” fame, this character encounters the Sanderson sisters during their childhood. Recognizing the witchy potential in young Winifred, the Witch Mother bestows upon them their iconic spellbook. She also issues a stern warning against employing a particular spell, a plot point that assumes critical significance when an adult Winifred disregards the warning, leading to dire consequences for her sisters. Despite her limited screen time, the Witch Mother’s importance to the Sanderson sisters’ narrative and her distinctive appearance make her a delightful addition to any Funko collection.
Directed by Anne Fletcher and penned by Jen D’Angelo (“Workaholics”), “Hocus Pocus 2” picks up 29 years after the events of the original film. Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), and Mary (Kathy Najimy) return to Salem, seeking vengeance. Three high school students, Becca (Whitney Peak), Cassie (Lilia Buckingham), and Izzy (Belissa Escobedo), find themselves tasked with stopping the resurrected witches by invoking the wrath of an enchantress.
The ensemble cast also includes Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Paige, and newcomer Nina Kitchen. Doug Jones reprises his role as Billy Butcherson.
While nearly three decades separated the release of the original “Hocus Pocus” and its sequel, fans can anticipate a much shorter wait for the next installment. “Hocus Pocus 3” is already in development, with Anne Fletcher set to direct from a script by Jen D’Angelo.
