1990s Video Game “Twisted Metal” TV Series Now Streaming
Twisted Metal is a live-action television series that is based on the popular PlayStation video game series from the 1990s, and it is making its way to the small screen.
The show follows a talkative milkman who’s given the do-or-die task of delivering a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. He befriends an axe-wielding car thief and together they embark on the mission while being chased by dangerous criminals and a killer clown named Sweet Tooth.
Twisted Metal is written by Michael Jonathan Smith, best known for his work on Cobra Kai, and is based on an original take by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The all-star cast is led by Anthony Mackie, who also executive produces under his production studio, Make It With Gravy Productions.
In a press release, Smith teased, “This is a bonkers show about insiders and outsiders, and how our own special apocalypse has divided and isolated us more than ever. But there’s hope. You can find your people and your community. You may just have to get past a terrifying clown driving a well-armed ice cream truck to find them.”
