The story follows Rose (played by Marin Ireland), a pathologist who finds solace in working with corpses rather than engaging in social interactions. However, she harbors an obsession with reanimating the dead. Celie (portrayed by Judy Reyes), on the other hand, is a maternity nurse whose life revolves around her vibrant and talkative six-year-old daughter, Lila (A.J. Lister). When tragedy strikes and Lila suddenly falls ill and dies, the paths of Rose and Celie collide in a cataclysmic manner. They embark on an irreversible descent into darkness, facing the question of how far they are willing to go to protect what they hold most dear.
