Yesterday, Toho officially announced their next Japanese Godzilla movie, titled “Godzilla Minus One,” and we now have a full reveal of the highly anticipated new Godzilla design.

“Godzilla Minus One” marks the first Japanese-produced Godzilla film since 2016’s “Shin Godzilla” and is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 3, 2023. The film will subsequently make its way to theaters in the United States on December 1, 2023.

Koji Ueda, President of Toho International, shared his insights in a recent statement, stating, “Set in a post-war Japan, ‘Godzilla Minus One’ will once again depict Godzilla as a terrifying and overpowering force, as evident from the teaser trailer and poster. The concept revolves around Japan, already devastated by war, facing a new threat with Godzilla, further pushing the country into the ‘minus’.”

As we previously reported, Takashi Yamazaki, known for directing “Lupin III: The First,” is helming this new installment, which will mark the 30th live-action film in Toho’s long-standing kaiju franchise.
