Whoville Horror Movie ‘The Mean One’ Starring David Howard Thornton from ‘Terrifier 2’ Sets VOD Release
‘The Mean One,’ an unconventional Christmas horror film that transforms the Grinch into a slasher maniac, made its limited theatrical debut during the holiday season. Today, THR reports that the holiday slasher has finally set a date for its home release.
Directed by Steven LaMorte, this audacious slasher parody will be available on video-on-demand (VOD) platforms starting October 3, courtesy of DeskPop Entertainment.
In this outrageous parody, ‘The Mean One’ features David Howard Thornton (known from ‘Terrifier 2’) as a grumpy, green-skinned creature donning a Santa suit. He resides high on a mountain above Newville, despising the holiday season. Cindy You-Know-Who (played by Krystle Martin), whose parents fell victim to ‘The Mean One’ twenty Christmases ago, returns to town in search of closure. However, when the monstrous character launches a new reign of terror that threatens to ruin Christmas, Cindy embarks on a brave mission to trap and kill the creature.
Alongside LaMorte’s direction, the film boasts a screenplay by Flip and Finn Kobler. The cast includes Chase Mullins, John Bigham, Erik Baker, Flip Kobler, and Amy Schumacher.
‘A Mean One’ is a co-production between A Sleight of Hand Productions, Amy Rose Productions, and Kali Pictures, with Schumacher, LaMorte, and Martine Melloul serving as producers. Jordan Rosner, Gato Scatena, and Zach Stampone are the executive producers.
