Exciting news awaits Blade Runner fans as Annapurna Interactive joins the fray with the announcement of ‘Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth,’ marking the first original video game set in the Blade Runner universe in over 25 years (excluding Nightdive’s remastered version of Westwood’s Blade Runner game from last year). The game will be developed by Annapurna’s in-house studio and helmed by Chelsea Hash, the director behind the acclaimed title ‘What Remains of Edith Finch.’
Taking place between the original Blade Runner film and its sequel, Blade Runner 2049, ‘Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth’ promises an intriguing narrative set in a dystopian Los Angeles following the catastrophic “Black Out.” While specific plot details are still under wraps, the game poses the thought-provoking question of how Blade Runners navigate a world devoid of Replicants to hunt.
Although the details about ‘Labyrinth’ remain scarce at this stage, a Steam page has already been created to pique fans’ interest. Additionally, Annapurna Interactive treated viewers to a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come with an exclusive teaser trailer showcased during the recent Annapurna Interactive event.
It’s worth noting that ‘Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth’ is separate from the previously announced Blade Runner game by Swedish developer 110 Industries, adding even more anticipation to the expanding Blade Runner gaming universe.
Stay tuned for further updates as Annapurna Interactive unveils more details about the highly anticipated ‘Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth,’ allowing fans to immerse themselves in the futuristic world of the iconic film franchise like never before.
