Prepare for a slow and chilling descent into terror with NEON‘s upcoming horror movie, “It Lives Inside,” directed by Bishal Dutta and produced by the masterminds behind “Get Out.” The film is set to hit theaters on September 22, 2023.

Today, NEON released the official poster for “It Lives Inside,” giving audiences a glimpse into the eerie atmosphere of the movie. (Check it out below!)

The cast features an impressive lineup, including Megan Suri (“Never Have I Ever,” “Missing”), Neeru Bajwa (“Jatt & Juliet 1 & 2”), Mohana Krishnan, Vik Sahay (“Captain Marvel,” “Chuck”), and Betty Gabriel (“Get Out”).

In “It Lives Inside,” the story revolves around Sam, a young girl desperate to fit in at school, who distances herself from her Indian heritage and family in an attempt to assimilate. However, when a mythological demonic spirit possesses her former best friend, Sam must confront her roots and embrace her heritage to overcome the malevolent force.

The film draws inspiration from director Bishal Dutta‘s personal experiences, having been born in India and later moving to America. It combines elements of Indian demonic legends with a poignant family tale passed down from Dutta’s grandfather. The screenplay was written by Dutta, based on a story co-created by Dutta and Ashish Mehta.

Raymond Mansfield and Sean McKittrick of QC Entertainment produced the film, with NEON and Edward H. Hamm Jr, Jameson Parker, Arielle Voisvert, and Shawn Williamson serving as executive producers.
