One of the world’s leading film and television memorabilia companies, Propstore, kickstarted a new memorabilia auction on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 that included over 500 rare and iconic pieces from film and television that excessed $9.7 million.  But what was the highest-priced auction item?  The original clown doll from the 1982 film, Poltergeist!

The clown doll from Poltergeist sold for $656,250!  Other items from the auction that sold, include:

1. Norris (Charles Hallahan) Spider Head-Thing from the 1972 film, The Thing, which sold for $587,500.
2. Robert Blalack’s Praxis Optical Printer Used to Composite Every VFX Shot from Star Wars:  Episode IV – A New Hope, which sold for $337,500.
3. Rick Deckard’s (Harrison Ford) Screen-Matched and Photo-Matched Costume from Voight-Kampff and Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer) Fight Scenes from Blade Runner, which sold for $287,500.
4. Screen-Matched Jumanji Game Board from the 1995 film, Jumanji, which sold for $262,500.
5. Light-Up Full-Size DeLorean Time Machine Replica Used at Official Universal Studios Promotional Events from the Back to the Future trilogy, which sold for $250,000.
6. Hand-Painted Ralph McQuarrie X-Wing Starfighter and Imperial TIE Fighter Illustration from Star Wars:  Episode IV – A New Hope, which sold for $175,000.
7. Batman’s (Michael Keaton) Batsuit on Display from Batman Returns, which sold for $137,500.
8. Rose DeWitt Bukater’s (Kate Winslet) Sinking Coat from Titanic, which sold for $137,500.
9. General Maximus’ (Russell Crowe) Screen-Matched Hero Dress Cuirass from Gladiator, which sold for $125,000.
10. Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) Light-Up “Star-Lord” Helmet from Guardians of the Galaxy, which sold for $125,000.
11. Iron Man’s (Robert Downey, Jr.) Light-Up Distressed Mk42 Helmet from Iron Man 3, which sold for $125,000.
12. Obi-Wan Kenobi’s (Ewan McGregor) Bladed Dueling Lightsaber from Star Wars:  Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, which sold for $118,750.
13. Sam Neill Collection: Dr. Alan Grant’s (Sam Neill) Hat from Jurassic World:  Dominion, which sold for $112,500.
14. Harry Potter’s (Daniel Radcliffe) Distressed Costume with Glasses from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which sold for $100,000.
15. Light-Up 1/4-Scale Submersible Cab One Submarine Model Miniature from the 1989 film, The Abyss, which sold for $93,750.
16. Director Joe Dante’s Gremlin Puppet from the 1984 film, Gremlins, which sold for $93,750.
17. William Wallace’s (Mel Gibson) Scottish Claymore Sword from Braveheart, which sold for $87,500.
18. Kevin Costner-Autographed Screen-Matched Ray Kinsella Baseball Glove and Related Materials from Field of Dreams, which sold for $87,500.
19. Andy Dufresne’s (Tim Robbins) Distressed Rock Hammer from The Shawshank Redemption, which sold for $87,500.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Propstore, Brandon Alinger, released a statement, which said:

“The strength of sales in the auction from titles such as Back to Future, Batman, The Big Lebowski, Blade Runner, Jumanji, and Star Wars show the strength of entertainment collectibles as a hobby. It was also a very big day for horror, with our top two sales going to iconic horror props from Poltergeist and The Thing. We now move into days 2 and 3 of the auction, with hundreds of fantastic lots still to be sold to new owners around the world.”
