Scott Beck and Bryan Woods Set to Direct A24’s Horror Film ‘Heretic’ Starring Hugh Grant
Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, known for their work on the successful films A Quiet Place and 65, are gearing up for their next project, the horror movie Heretic, in collaboration with A24, as reported by Deadline.
Beck and Woods not only penned the screenplay but are also taking on the directorial duties for the film. Excitingly, acclaimed actor Hugh Grant (D&D: Honor Among Thieves) is currently in negotiations to star in the project. UPDATE: THR has also revealed that Chloe East (The Fabelmans) is in talks to join the cast.
While plot details remain tightly under wraps, rumors suggest that Heretic will revolve around two young women with strong religious beliefs who find themselves entangled in a suspenseful cat-and-mouse game within the confines of an eccentric man’s home.
Scott Beck and Bryan Woods previously showcased their exceptional writing skills with the critically acclaimed A Quiet Place, directed by John Krasinski. They recently wrote and directed the imaginative Adam Driver-led dinosaur film 65, which garnered significant attention earlier this year.
The talented duo also directed the horror film Haunt and penned the screenplay for the Stephen King adaptation The Boogeyman, both released in recent years.
