Stephen King’s ‘The Boogeyman is set to unleash on June 2, 2023, and tickets are on sale now!
From the creative minds of 20th Century Studios and 21 Laps comes ‘The Boogeyman,’ a spine-tingling horror film based on Stephen King’s captivating story. Don’t miss your chance to secure tickets for this highly anticipated release, as they have just become available.
In the movie, high school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are grappling with the recent loss of their mother, receiving little support from their father, Will, who is also dealing with his own emotional turmoil as a therapist. When a desperate patient unexpectedly arrives at their home, he unknowingly unleashes a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families, feeding off their suffering.
Director Rob Savage describes ‘The Boogeyman’ as a classic horror film that combines scares and heartfelt moments, reminiscent of the likes of ‘Poltergeist.’ Inspired by the fear he experienced when reading King’s short story as a child, Savage aimed to evoke that same childhood terror in audiences worldwide. The film boasts an incredibly talented team of creatives and delivers exceptional performances from the cast, leaving Savage in awe. The team is immensely proud of the movie they have created.
The stellar cast includes Sophie Thatcher (‘Yellowjackets’), Chris Messina (‘Birds of Prey’), David Dastmalchian (‘Dune,’ ‘The Suicide Squad’), Marin Ireland (‘Y: The Last Man,’ ‘The Umbrella Academy’), Vivien Lyra Blair (‘Bird Box,’ ‘Mr. Corman’), and Madison Hu (‘Voyagers’).
The original screenplay drafts were penned by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (‘A Quiet Place’) and Akela Cooper (‘Malignant’), with the addition of Mark Heyman (‘Black Swan’). Producing the film are Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps.
Originally published in 1973 and later featured in Stephen King’s ‘Night Shift’ collection in 1978, ‘The Boogeyman’ marks the first-ever feature adaptation of this captivating tale. Don’t miss your chance to experience the terror unfold on the big screen.
