Director John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein cram in intricate set pieces in an epic-sized fantasy adventure, collecting a Rogues’ gallery of stars to provide a fascinating and funny introduction to the lore, according to Meagan’s review for BD.
An epic robbery to recover a lost artifact is undertaken by a charismatic thief and a group of odd adventurers, but things go horribly wrong when they come into conflict with the wrong people. In a funny and action-packed adventure, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves takes the expansive world and playful spirit of the iconic roleplaying game to the big screen.
The live-action film was directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, co-creators of the hilarious comedy Game Night from 2018 and writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Michelle Rodriguez (Resident Evil), Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), and Sophia Lillis round out the group as Chris Pine’s co-stars (It, It Chapter Two, Gretel & Hansel).
Hugh Grant will also portray the villain in the movie.
Dungeons & Dragons, which was created by Gary Gygax and David Arneson, was initially released in 1974. Three Dungeons & Dragons movies were released between 2000 and 2012.
