New ‘Heart Eyes’ Trailer Teases a Bloody Valentine Arriving in Theaters This February
After a cryptic first teaser, the official trailer for Companion has finally been released, offering a deeper look at the sci-fi twist of this upcoming horror film from Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, and producer Zach Cregger (Barbarian). The trailer reveals the chilling premise of a sex bot, played by Sophie Thatcher (Heretic, The Boogeyman), seeking bloody vengeance.
You can watch the official trailer for Companion below.
The film is set to hit theaters on January 31, 2025.
Directed by Drew Hancock, who also penned the screenplay, Companion marks his directorial debut.
Hancock shared his thoughts with EW, explaining how the film sets itself apart from other robot-themed movies: “The silver lining of showing the audience that this is a movie about a robot is that it allows us to preemptively address any comparisons to other films. It’d be easy for someone to say, ‘This is M3GAN’ or ‘This is the Megan Fox movie Subservience.’ But Companion is different—it’s not about A.I. gone wrong, it’s about A.I. gone right.”
The cast also includes Rupert Friend (Separation), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), Lukas Gage (You), Megan Suri (It Lives Inside), and Jack Quaid (Scream, The Boys).
Companion has been rated “R” for strong violence, sexual content, and language throughout.
Produced by BoulderLight’s Raphael Margules and J.D. Lifshitz, alongside Vertigo’s Roy Lee, the film also sees Tracy Rosenblum and Andrew Childs serving as executive producers.
Companion is presented by New Line Cinema as a BoulderLight Pictures Production in association with Vertigo Entertainment/Subconscious.
