A24 has revealed a new poster for Death of a Unicorn, a dark comedy previously titled Death of a Unicorn, ahead of tomorrow’s trailer debut.

Set for a Spring 2025 release, the film stars Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega (Scream, X, Wednesday), with notable talent behind the scenes as well. Produced by Ari Aster (Beau is Afraid, Midsommar), the film will feature music by horror legend John Carpenter.

In Death of a Unicorn, Rudd plays a father, and Ortega his daughter, who accidentally hit and kill a unicorn on their way to a weekend retreat. They soon discover that the creature possesses miraculous curative properties, which Rudd’s billionaire boss (Richard Grant) is eager to exploit.

The film marks the directorial debut of Alex Scharfman (Resurrection, Lyle). The impressive cast also includes Téa Leoni (Jurassic Park III, Spanglish), Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Anthony Carrigan (Bill & Ted Face the Music, Barry), Sunita Mani (Servant, Glow), Jessica Hynes (Shaun of the Dead, Paddington 2), and Stephen Park (Asteroid City).

Behind the camera, the film boasts a talented crew, with Larry Fong (Kong: Skull Island, 300) serving as Director of Photography, Amy Williams (Master of None) as Production Designer, and Andrea Flesch (Midsommar) handling Costume Design. Avy Kaufman (Tár) is the Casting Director.

Death of a Unicorn is produced by Alex Scharfman, Drew Houpt, and Lucas Joaquin of Secret Engine, Tyler Campellone, Lars Knudsen of Square Peg, and Tim Headington and Theresa Steele Page of Ley Line Entertainment. Ari Aster, Michael Williams, Jacob Epstein, David Darby, Nate Kamiya, Paul Rudd, and Jenna Ortega will serve as executive producers.
