Director André Øvredal, known for films like ‘The Autopsy of Jane Doe’, ‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark’, and ‘The Last Voyage of the Demeter’, is set to helm a new horror project. According to Deadline, Øvredal will direct an untitled horror film for Walter Hamada’s 18hz Productions.

The report reveals that Zachary Donohue and T.W. Burgess have written the script, though details about the plot remain under wraps.

Gary Dauberman, known for ‘Salem’s Lot’, will also produce the film.

Hamada, who recently departed from Warner Bros. and DC, has a strong background in horror, having produced numerous titles at New Line, including remakes of ‘Friday the 13th’ and ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, as well as ‘The Conjuring’ series and the 2017 adaptation of ‘IT’. Through 18hz Productions, he plans to deliver several mid-budget horror films for Paramount Pictures each year, with other projects like ‘Primate’ and ‘Familiar’ also in the pipeline.

Stay tuned for updates on Øvredal’s upcoming horror film as more information becomes available.
