Newly Released Romantic Revenge Thriller ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ Featuring Kristen Stewart Hits Home Screens!
Following its successful festival run and recent theatrical release, “Love Lies Bleeding,” a revenge thriller helmed by Rose Glass, director of “Saint Maud,” is now available for home viewing via Video on Demand (VOD).
Priced at $24.99 for digital purchase and $19.99 for rental, viewers can now enjoy the film from the comfort of their own homes. Additionally, it has been announced that the movie will hit Blu-ray on June 6, 2024.
Starring Katy O’Brian alongside Kristen Stewart (“Underwater”), the film, distributed by A24, promises a narrative woven with themes of ego, desire, and the American Dream.
During its debut at Sundance, I noted, “With a visionary at the helm and an impressive cast willing to follow along with every wild turn thrown at them, Love Lies Bleeding makes for a captivating ‘80s set crime thriller unafraid to get deeply weird and ultra-violent.” Brace yourself for the unexpected: “That it devolves into madness, complete with humor and surreal imagery, means that it’s the precise type of gonzo cinema that’ll likely prove divisive. But Glass makes it so easy to fall on this movie’s wavelength, and the unpredictability of it keeps you deeply invested and often breathless from the suspense.”
The film follows the story of Lou, a reclusive gym manager who falls for Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder en route to Las Vegas. Their love ignites violence, entangling them in Lou’s criminal family’s web.
Featuring a star-studded cast including Dave Franco (“The After Party”), Ed Harris (“Westworld”), Anna Baryshnikov (“Dickinson”), and Jena Malone (“Goliath”), alongside Stewart and O’Brian, “Love Lies Bleeding” marks another standout collaboration for acclaimed director Rose Glass.
Co-written by Glass and Weronika Tofilska, the film is a joint production of A24, Lobo Films, and Escape Plan Productions, with Andrea Cornwell and Oliver Kassman serving as producers.
If you missed the theatrical release, now is the perfect time to catch “Love Lies Bleeding” from home. And if you’re searching for more viewing options, here’s a roundup of this week’s latest releases.
