Steven Spielberg to Direct UFO Film Penned by ‘Jurassic Park’ Writer
Fresh from his introspective dive into personal storytelling with the Oscar-nominated “The Fabelmans,” Steven Spielberg seems poised to delve once more into the realm of extraterrestrial intrigue!
According to a report from Variety this week, Spielberg is likely to embark on his next cinematic venture—an original UFO film, with David Koepp, the writer of “Jurassic Park,” penning the script.
Interestingly, Koepp himself is circling back to his cinematic origins, as he gears up to script the forthcoming installment in the Jurassic World franchise, slated for release next year.
Spielberg’s fascination with extraterrestrial themes is longstanding, having helmed two iconic alien-centric films: “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” in 1977 and “E.T.” in 1982. His foray into the genre continued with the 2005 adaptation of H.G. Wells’ “War of the Worlds.”
More recently, Spielberg’s production company, Amblin Entertainment, delved into the exploration of human encounters with otherworldly phenomena through the Netflix docuseries “Encounters,” released last year. The series presents real-life stories of such encounters, offering a gripping exploration of the unknown.
As details about Spielberg’s enigmatic new UFO project emerge, audiences eagerly await the next chapter in his cinematic exploration of the extraterrestrial.
