Atomic Monster and Blumhouse have joined forces with Universal Pictures to bring you the spine-chilling supernatural thriller “Night Swim,” recently earning an official PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association.

Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon are set to lead the cast in “Night Swim,” a project helmed by writer and director Bryce McGuire. This upcoming horror film has secured its PG-13 rating due to elements of “Terror, some violent content, and language.”

The story of “Night Swim” centers on a family who unwittingly summons a horrifying supernatural presence lurking in the backyard swimming pool of their new residence. You can mark your calendars for January 5, 2024, as that’s when this hair-raising tale is set to hit theaters.

Based on the highly regarded 2014 short film by Rod Blackhurst and Bryce McGuire, the movie stars Wyatt Russell, known for his role in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” as Ray Waller. Ray, a former major league baseball player, is compelled to retire prematurely due to a degenerative illness. He relocates to a new home with his concerned wife, Eve, portrayed by Oscar® nominee Kerry Condon, who appeared in “The Banshees of Inisherin.” Their family includes their teenage daughter, Izzy (played by Amélie Hoeferle, known for her role in this fall’s “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”), and their young son, Elliot (portrayed by Gavin Warren, recognized for his part in “Fear the Walking Dead”).

Ray, secretly clinging to hope against the odds of returning to professional baseball, persuades Eve that the home’s glistening backyard pool will be a source of fun for the kids and a means of physical therapy for himself. However, an ominous secret concealed in the home’s history unleashes a malevolent force, ensnaring the family in the relentless depths of inescapable terror.

“Night Swim” is both written and directed by Bryce McGuire, the creative force behind the upcoming film “Baghead.” The film’s production is in the capable hands of James Wan, the renowned filmmaker responsible for the “Saw,” “Insidious,” and “The Conjuring” franchises, and Jason Blum, the mastermind behind the “Halloween” films, “The Black Phone,” and “The Invisible Man.” The film’s executive production is managed by Michael Clear and Judson Scott, representing Wan’s Atomic Monster, and Ryan Turek, overseeing Blum’s Blumhouse.
