‘Fall 2’ and ‘Fall 3′ – Lionsgate Announces Double Sequel for Fear-of-Heights Thriller’
In August 2022, Lionsgate unleashed ‘Fall,’ a heart-pounding tale of survival produced by the team behind ’47 Meters Down.’ Fear reached new heights in this gripping thriller. Earlier this year, we learned that a sequel was in the works, and now, it appears that not one, but two sequels are on the horizon.
The Hollywood Reporter (THR) reports today that Capstone Studios has given the green light to two sequels for ‘Fall.’ Scott Mann, the director of the original film, will return to produce the sequels. Additionally, he will co-write and direct the third installment.
Production for ‘Fall 2’ is set to kick off in June 2024.
THR notes that “Fall 2 and Fall 3 will bring back original characters from the first film, while also leaving room for new ones to be introduced.”
Capstone’s Christian Mercuri expressed enthusiasm for the expansion of the franchise, stating, “These two new sequels are wonderful opportunities to expand on the original. We want to now take the franchise even further as we assemble the very best team and ideas to ensure the next hair-raising, death-defying, and pulse-pounding film reaches global audiences.”
Scott Mann is equally excited about the project, stating, “I am thrilled to be continuing the Fall journey and taking it to the next level. We’ve got a really special cinematic experience planned, and I’m immensely grateful to my fellow producers for backing the vision. I’m also excited to be working with new collaborators as well as reuniting with the original gang, and, obviously, can’t wait to be back filming thousands of feet up.”
In the original film, best friends Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner) embarked on a thrilling journey to conquer fears and push their limits. However, their adventure took a terrifying turn when they found themselves stranded atop a remote, abandoned radio tower, 2,000 feet above the ground, with no way to descend. To survive, they had to use their climbing expertise to battle the elements, limited supplies, and vertigo-inducing heights in this adrenaline-fueled thriller.
‘Fall’ also featured Jeffrey Dean Morgan (‘Watchmen,’ ‘The Walking Dead’) and was produced and directed by Scott Mann (‘Final Score’). The script was co-written by Mann and Jonathan Frank (‘Final Score’).
The film achieved box office success, amassing an impressive $17.3 million in ticket sales last year.
