Bleecker Street has recently secured North American rights for this upcoming horror film, which promises to transport audiences to a world untouched by modernity. Set during the Palaeolithic era, “The Origin” is a testament to the power of creativity in filmmaking. Notably, the film boasts an entirely constructed language, specially designed for the project by a linguist and an archaeologist.

In this primal tale, a small boat lands on the shores of a harsh and unforgiving landscape. Six individuals have embarked on a treacherous journey across the narrow sea in search of a new home. Starving, desperate, and thrust into the stark reality of 45,000 years ago, they face their first challenge: finding shelter. Their quest leads them across the unforgiving tundra, toward distant mountains harboring the caves crucial for their survival. However, as night descends, anticipation morphs into fear and doubt as they come to realize that they are not alone in this perilous world.
“The Origin” features a talented ensemble cast, including Safia Oakley-Green (“Sherwood”), Chuku Modu (“Captain Marvel”), Kit Young (“Shadow and Bone”), Iola Evans (“Choose or Die”), Luna Mwezi (“Needle Park Baby”), Arno Luening (“Divine Comedy”), Rosebud Melarkey, and Tyrell Mhlanga.
