Amber Heard, known for her role in “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane,” makes a chilling return to the horror genre in director Conor Allyn’s “In the Fire,” and Saban Films has just unveiled the official trailer.

“In the Fire” is set to hit theaters and be available for home viewing on Friday, October 13.

You can watch the official trailer above.

The film has received an “R” rating due to some violent content and brief sexuality.

Here’s a glimpse of the plot: In the 1890s, a doctor from New York journeys to a remote plantation to tend to a disturbed boy who possesses inexplicable abilities. As she begins treating the child, she inadvertently triggers a clash between science and religion with the local priest, who believes the boy is possessed by the Devil and is the source of all the village’s troubles.

Amber Heard offers a teaser, saying, “The film is a meditation on the almost supernatural powers of love told through a strong-willed and independent woman at the turn of the 20th century. I feel honored to be part of this labor of love and to be the lead in Conor Allyn’s vision. I feel lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing cast. They’re as dedicated and magical as the characters they play.”

The film also stars Lorenzo McGovern Zaini, Sophie Amber, Luca Calvani, and Yari Gugliucci.

The screenplay for “In the Fire” was penned by Conor Allyn, Pascal Borno, and Silvio Muraglia.
