After much anticipation, Norman Partridge’s novel “Dark Harvest” is making its way to the big screen, with director David Slade at the helm. The newly released trailer introduces the Halloween legend of Sawtooth Jack, promising a spine-tingling experience just in time for the season.

Set in the eerie backdrop of Halloween 1963, “Dark Harvest” unfolds in a cursed town where the annual harvest becomes a brutal battle for survival. As the town’s children face the terrifying legend of Sawtooth Jack rising from the cornfields, groups of boys band together to confront the murderous scarecrow before the stroke of midnight. Among them is Richie, a rebellious outcast, motivated by his brother’s past victory. However, as the hunt progresses, Richie stumbles upon a shocking revelation that forces him to make a pivotal choice, challenging the relentless cycle of horror.

The film is set for a one-night-only theatrical release at Alamo Drafthouse Theaters on October 11, followed by its digital release on Friday, October 13. The horror movie was previously rated R for its strong horror violence and gore, language throughout, and brief drug use.

“Dark Harvest” boasts a talented cast that includes Elizabeth Reaser (“The Haunting of Hill House”), Jeremy Davies (“Hannibal”), Luke Kirby (“No Man of God”), Casey Likes (“The Birch”), and Emyri Crutchfield (“Tell Me Your Secrets”).

Based on Norman Partridge’s Halloween season novel, the film introduces a twisted Halloween tradition where teens must confront a local legend with deadly consequences. Originally expected to debut in 2021, the film’s release has been eagerly awaited by horror enthusiasts.

The novel itself takes place during Halloween of 1963 in a small Midwestern town, where teenage boys square off against the knife-wielding October Boy, also known as Ol’ Hacksaw Face or Sawtooth Jack. In this chilling annual ritual of life and death, one teenager, Pete McCormick, sees killing the October Boy as his only chance to escape the dead-end future awaiting him in the town. However, as the night unfolds, Pete will come face to face with a horrifying secret that lurks beneath the October Boy’s saw-toothed visage.

The screenplay for “Dark Harvest” was written by Michael Gilio. Prepare to be captivated by this eerie tale of Halloween horror when it arrives in theaters and digitally this October.
