Netflix Secures ‘Woman of the Hour,’ Anna Kendrick’s Serial Killer Thriller
Fresh off its world premiere at TIFF, the thriller “Woman of the Hour,” directed by Anna Kendrick, has landed a lucrative deal with Netflix, according to Variety’s recent report.
Variety provides the specifics, stating, “The streaming giant has acquired the rights to this true-crime thriller for a sum in the range of $11 million, marking it as the festival’s first major sale. This deal encompasses distribution in the U.S. and spans several international territories, including France, Italy, Japan, and South Korea.”
Nicolette Robinson and Autumn Best are among the film’s additional stars.
“Woman of the Hour” was penned by Ian MacAllister McDonald, whose Black List script had previously been considered by Netflix before being resurrected and embraced for this project. The film has indeed come full circle.
