Over 15 years after it was first teased as a fake trailer in the 2007 Grindhouse Double Feature, Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving is finally a real movie. The film will be released in theaters worldwide on November 17, 2023, by TriStar Pictures and Spyglass Media Group.

The teaser trailer for the real movie was released online this morning, and it gives us a bloody glimpse of what to expect. The trailer opens with a scene from the original fake trailer, in which a cheerleader is killed on a trampoline. However, the rest of the trailer is new footage, and it shows a masked killer terrorizing a small town on Thanksgiving.

The cast of Thanksgiving includes Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Milo Manheim, Nell Verlaque, Gina Gershon, Tim Dillon, and Rick Hoffman. The film is written by Roth and Jeff Rendell, and it is produced by Roger Birnbaum and Eli Roth.

In Thanksgiving, “After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday.”

The film is an expansion of Roth’s faux trailer seen in Grindhouse, and it promises to be a bloody and twisted take on the holiday season. Fans of Roth’s work will not be disappointed.

Thanksgiving is sure to be a controversial film, but it is also sure to be a bloody good time for horror fans. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 17, 2023.
