‘When Evil Lurks’ – Shudder Unveils New Halloween Horror Flick from the Director of ‘Terrified’
Following the spine-tingling success of “Terrified” in 2017, filmmaker Demián Rugna is set to send shivers down our spines once again with his new horror movie, “When Evil Lurks,” just in time for Halloween.
According to a report from Deadline, Shudder and IFC Films have slated the theatrical release of “When Evil Lurks” for October 6, followed closely by its Shudder premiere on October 27. Notably, AMC Studios is also exploring the possibility of expanding the film’s universe with a small-screen project.
Before its wide release, “When Evil Lurks” is scheduled to make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September.
The plot of the film revolves around two brothers who stumble upon a gruesome corpse near their property. To uncover the truth, they join forces with the local residents, discovering that their village is plagued by a malevolent spirit that has possessed a man. As the film unfolds, tension mounts, and the protagonists must race against impending danger to free the possessed man from the spirit’s relentless grip.
The cast includes Ezequiel Rodriguez, Demián Salomon, Luis Ziembrowski, Silvia Sabater, and Marcelo Michinaux.
Director Demián Rugna expressed his excitement about collaborating with Shudder, praising the platform for providing him with the creative freedom to shock and terrify audiences with an innovative and fresh storyline.
“When Evil Lurks” is a product of the collaborative efforts of Shudder, Machaco Films, and Aramos Cine, promising to be a haunting addition to the horror genre this Halloween.
